Award-winning iPhone filmmaker Conrard Mess is a man in demand.
Since winning the second iPhone Film Festival with his short The Fixer (watch it below), he has been to Hollywood to film the follow-up Russian Roulette, is hosting a number of workshops at the Mobil Film Festival in 2013 and will be in London next month for a special masterclass hosted by The Smalls Film Festival.
He also found time recently to make a short for the end hunger campaign.
Mess, who was born in Zaragoza, Spain, shot his first film on his wife’s smartphone and without any formal training went on to make The Fixer, a visually stunning film made on an iPhone with more than a passing nod to Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange.
He is promising a fun and inspirational masterclass relating to his personal journey as a smart movie maker and along with previewing his films he will show attendees how it is done with some fantastic tricks on how to shoot and edit a stunning short film using an iPhone.
“I want to talk about my creation process and pre-production stuff,” he told smartmoviemaking.com. “It’s a learning process and I am still learning so it’s a chance for others to come along and share that journey.
“I will show The Fixer and explain how I shot it, what special effects I used and the various gizmos and software that I now incorporate into my filmmaking, most of which I have been given as prizes for winning various film competitions.”
• Conrad Mess’s iPhone Filmmaking Masterclass takes place on 21 September, 2:30pm at the The Hospital Club, 24 Endell Street, WC2H 9HQ London.
Early booking is advisable, see website for details.
