Latest: Apple to announce new iPhone on 7 August, as pictures of front panels leaked

We picked up on a couple of reports over the weekend regarding what appears to be the imminent arrival, or at least an announcement, on the new Apple iPhone.

A reliable industry source who wishes to remain anonymous revealed to Know Your Mobile that Apple’s
highly-anticipatedand much-rumourediPhone5 will be launched via a keynote speech on August 7.
The new date correlates with reports from earlier in the month the iPhone 5′s release had been brought forward from October to August.

These latest pictures of new fronts match up with previously leaked panels, and a set of schematics leaked last month, so it’s possible that they’re legitimate. They also support claims that Apple’s next smartphone will feature a 4-inch display, claims the website idownloadblog.com.
Apple’s expected to unveil the new handset in late September, or early October of this year.
There is a strong possibility that the dock design may also change, but what is for certain is that the next version of the iPhone will run Apple’s iOS operating system, iOS 6, which is expected to be significantly upgraded to fight off competition from recent smartphone handsets by rivals running Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 and Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
