iPhone Film Festival: more prizes this year

Монтажер - The Editor

Entries for the next iPhone Film Festival (IFF) continue to be uploaded as organisers announce more prizes from sponsors for smart moviemakers.

As with the previous IFF, held in April this year, there will be three categories: Best Film, Best Music Video and Best Cinematography.

Prizes so far include a software package worth over $3,000 from Red Giant Software and hardware from Owle Bubo and Smoothee.

A recent entry that as caught our eye on smartmoviemaking.com is Монтажер — The Editor. We are not sure where it’s from, but The Editor is a neat take on a ‘movie within a movie’ and the blurring of reality and fiction in the overworked film editor’s life.

Written and directed by Chris Nong, The Editor features great location shots, night-time shooting and sharp editing.

Idiot with an iPhone

Another entry we like is Idiot with an iPhone by paulmadethis. He describes it as an ‘homage to an homage’, as it is inspired by the film Idiot with a Tripod, which itself was inspired by the silent classic Man With a Movie Camera.

He makes the process of ’from page to screen’ look so easy!
