iOS filmmakers: get your work premiered in London at the first iPhone Popup Film Festival
The iPhone Popup Film Festival has added a special online category to its events, so if you are an iPhone filmmaker and want your work premiered in London on 11 September submit or add your film to our Vimeo page. Deadline for submissions is Friday 31 August 2012.
If you are in town, bring your film on your iOS device and it’s showtime. Simple. The Smart Movie Making-backed festival will launch on 11 September at the Nordic Bar in London’s West End.
We only have 18 spots left for filmmakers to show their work in person on the launch night, so if you are attending and want to show your film you must sign-up to guarantee a slot, other than that anyone is welcome to join us on the night to watch all the films.
Admission is free, and most events will feature live music of some description. There is no charge to show your film.
We are also hosting a very special screening in York on 3 September and the same applies, and then we take the iPhone Popup Film Festival to cities around the world – so watch out!
If you can’t make it in person to the iPhone Popup Film Festival, we will show films from our Vimeo group as part of the festival wherever we pitch up. We are planning regular nights in London, so if you miss this one, there will be more opportunities.
Here’s how the iPhone Popup Film Festival works. Bring your film on your iPhone or iPod Touch, plug it into our awesome Pop Video pico projector and we will show it on a ‘big screen’.
The iPhone Popup Festival is an opportunity for anyone who has made a film on their iOS device to come along and show their work in person and perhaps receive feedback, see what others are doing, pick up latest tips and tricks and generally have a good time.
Non filmmakers are also welcome to simply join us and view a bunch of the very best short films being produced on smartphones.
This is the ‘festival in your pocket’, we are proudly lo-fi, and our mobile projector will screen your films in qHD (960 x 540 pixel resolution) quality on 50-inch screen.
These are informal nights, with no judging or awards, we simply want to have fun and showcase the best films being made on mobile devices.
• At present our projector will only show films off iOS devices and films should be no longer than five minutes.
The iPhone Popup Film Festival is the festival in your pocket and strictly no red carpet, organised by filmmakers and artists for filmmakers and those interested in digital arts and music, so join our group, or submit your film, or simply spread the word – and stick 11 September in your calendar and join the digital revolution.
